Recently, Cabot, Birla, Tokai carbon and other international well-known Carbon Black enterprises have proposed price increase measures, which will be implemented since July.

Cabot, the world's No.1 carbon black manufacturer, announced on June 1 that it would increase the prices of all carbon black products sold by its reinforcement business department in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), with an increase of 115 euro / ton from July 1, 2021 or as permitted by customer contracts.

Cabot said the price increase is necessary to solve the rising costs associated with manufacturing high-quality products, meeting regulatory requirements and environmental standards, packaging and logistics. In addition, the price increase will enable Cabot to maintain its position as a reliable supplier of high-quality carbon black products while continuing to promote sustainable development, and ensure the safety of supply to the region.

On June 3, Birla carbon black company also announced that from July 1, all its products produced in America will increase the price by US $170 per ton.

In view of the rising freight, logistics costs and overall operating costs, as well as the increased investment required to meet environmental regulations and ensure the sustainable operation of the facilities, the price increase is a helpless move, Birla said. As always, the company will continue to be committed to providing customers with high-quality carbon black, innovative solutions and new carbon black products.

Japan's Tokai Carbon Co., Ltd. said on June 10 that due to rising raw material prices and operating costs, all its products in the Americas will be increased by US $150 per ton from July 15.
