Application of iron oxide red in concrete

Walking around the school playground, the airport runway and the city walls around the tourist palace, we can see all kinds of red. There is Iron Oxide red in this red, which is the crystallization of iron oxide red used in the field of concrete. So, in the field of concrete, how to use iron oxide red?

Iron oxide red can be directly used as pigment or colorant in all kinds of concrete prefabricated parts and building product materials, such as all kinds of indoor and outdoor color concrete surfaces, such as wall, floor, ceiling, pillar, porch, pavement, parking lot, ladder, station, etc., and all kinds of building ceramics and glazed ceramics, such as face brick, floor tile, roof tile, panel, terrazzo, mosaic tile, artificial marble, etc.

In concrete products, the amount of iron oxide red is limited to 1 ~ 10%. Too high a limit will reduce the mechanical strength of products, usually 5-8%. Iron oxide red contains lead and zinc oxides, which will affect the setting time and setting strength.

Concrete products sometimes need to be cured by hot pressing above 200 ℃, so the black and brown iron oxide that can be transformed into iron red at 180 ℃ must be treated by thermal stability first. If used on terrazzo, the bottom layer is 2 ~ 3cm thick and the surface layer is 15cm thick.

The application of iron oxide red in the field of concrete makes use of the excellent weather resistance, alkali resistance and light resistance of iron oxide red. These functions can not be combined with other inorganic pigments or Organic Pigments.
