Recently, Cabot, a well-known Carbon Black manufacturer, announced the price increase again. According to reports, since November 1, 2020, or if the customer contract allows, the company will increase the global sales price of special carbon black by 8%. Cabot said that the price increase is mainly to ease the pressure of substantially increased costs. This is Cabot's second price increase in a month. Since late September, a number of domestic carbon black enterprises have also announced price increase plans.

It is reported that after the carbon black market price reached the low point in the year at the end of May, the carbon black market hit the bottom and rebounded, and entered the mode of continuous rise. Only in August, the carbon black market showed a small decline. According to statistics, the carbon black market rose by 2000 yuan / ton from June to October, of which 200 yuan / ton fell in August. As of October 23, 2020, the market price of carbon black has been higher than that of the same period last year. On the contrary, the price of raw coal tar is not as high as that of last year, and the profit level of carbon black enterprises in the second half of the year is fair. Coal tar prices rose 550-735 yuan / ton from June to October, which supported the price rise of carbon black market, but it was not enough to support such a large increase. Carbon black market prices continued to rise in the second half of the year, also benefited from the start-up of major downstream tire enterprises.
