Ceramic industry: polyvinyl alcohol is used in the ceramic firing process. The high temperature in the kiln will make the crystal water or liquid water in the glaze layer turn into gas. When the glaze layer is thick, the gaseous water molecules will be wrapped by the glaze film and will form bubbles if they cannot be released. Polyethylene glycol, polysiloxane and tributyl phosphate can be added to eliminate foam to avoid the formation of fish eyes on the ceramic surface and affect the appearance of ceramics.
