In 2021, the production of titanium dioxide in China is 3.79 million tons

Bi Sheng, Secretary General of titanium dioxide alliance and director of titanium dioxide sub center, said that among the total output of 3.79 million tons of titanium dioxide, rutile products were 3.13 million tons, accounting for 82.5%; The anatase type is 490000 tons, accounting for 13.0%; Non pigment grade and other types of products are 170000 tons, accounting for 4.5%.

In 2021, the output of titanium dioxide by chlorination method was 376000 tons, accounting for 9.9% of the total output and 12.0% of the output of rutile products, both of which increased compared with the previous year.

Bi Sheng believes that the main reason for the record high output of titanium dioxide in China is the improvement of the global economic environment and the insufficient operating rate of foreign production enterprises affected by the epidemic situation; At the same time, the production capacity of foreign titanium dioxide manufacturers has not increased effectively for many years, which makes China's titanium dioxide export increase year by year. In addition, the domestic epidemic situation is properly controlled, the overall macroeconomic orientation is good, and the demand for new infrastructure and internal circulation is driven. In addition, domestic enterprises have expanded their production significantly in recent years, and the total production capacity has increased significantly.
