On August 10,,LOMON BILLIONS group announced that according to the market demand of titanium dioxide and the rise of raw material prices, it decided to increase the sales price of various models of titanium dioxide by US $200 / ton to various downstream customers on the basis of the original price.
The next day, both Huiyun titanium industry and CNNC titanium white announced that they would increase the sales price of titanium dioxide by 1000 yuan / ton to domestic customers and $200 / ton to international customers.
This round of titanium dioxide price increase is mainly affected by factors such as cost increase and production reduction of some manufacturers. Recently, the prices of titanium dioxide's two raw materials, titanium ore and sulfuric ACID, have increased significantly. Among them, 46 grade titanium ore in Panzhihua area of Sichuan increased by 50-100 yuan / ton this week; The price of sulfuric acid near the main producing area of titanium dioxide has increased by 60-350 yuan / ton in recent one month. Some titanium dioxide manufacturers in Sichuan and Guangxi have reduced production due to local environmental protection and power restriction, and the supply of some brand products is tight; There are also individual manufacturers in Shandong for maintenance, which is expected to recover within a week.
In the short term, it remains to be seen that the manufacturer will raise the final executive price. This round of price increase may stimulate dealers and downstream to prepare goods in advance. September October is the traditional peak season. It is expected that the actual demand of the downstream will increase significantly and the price increase will be easier to implement.
At present, more than 50% of the world's titanium dioxide production capacity is concentrated in the hands of five leading companies: ,LOMON BILLIONS group, Chemours, Kronos worldwide, Venator and tronox.
Affected by COVID-19, the operation rate of leading enterprises of overseas titanium dioxide decreased and output was insufficient. This year, Chemours' factory in the United States has not recovered its production capacity, and there is no relevant news that it will recover in the near future. As the international market has been in short supply for a long time, the export volume of domestic titanium dioxide has increased significantly this year. In the first half of this year, China's export of titanium dioxide was 640500 tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.73%. At present, the domestic export of titanium dioxide remains at a high level, about 100000-110000 tons per month, and it is expected that the monthly export will also remain at this high level in the second half of this year.
This year, domestic titanium dioxide enterprises have had six intensive price increases, respectively in early January, early February, early March, mid April, early May and early June. Since June, the titanium dioxide market has gradually entered the off-season. The domestic downstream demand is poor, and the price has fallen to a certain extent.
