Pvb 3

Polyvinyl butyral (PVB) is a thermoplastic Resin formed by the acetal reaction between Polyvinyl Alcohol and aldehydes. It can be used in combination with Plasticizer. It has good adhesion with metal, glass, wood and other materials. It can also be coated on the surface to form a film and waterproof.

According to the solvent, PVB can be divided into aqueous PVB and alcohol soluble PVB.

Water based PVB is suitable for water-based ink and food packaging, with high environmental protection performance but small scope of application; Alcohol soluble PVB is soluble in organic solvents. It is suitable for metal, glass, plastic and other materials. It can be used as film-forming waterproof or adhesive.

According to the morphology, PVB can be divided into powder PVB and film PVB.

Powder PVB has good dispersibility and has advantages in being used as ink and coating; Film PVB is mostly used for automobile safety glass, which can prevent fragments from splashing when the glass is impacted and play a protective role.

According to the purpose, PVB is also divided into conventional and high-end.

Conventional PVB is mostly used as ink connecting material and adhesive, while high-end PVB can be used in weapons and equipment, such as bulletproof vests.
