Polyvinyl Acetate Resin For High Strenght PVA Fiber

Soluble in most organic solvents (acetone is quite commonly used), polyvinyl acetate resins will adhere to both porous and non-porous materials. Flexibility of the adhesive film makes it particularly suitable in the bonding of textiles, paper and leather and in coating applications. Odorless and water-white. Also, these resins heat seal readily. Offered in bead form, all grades are 100% polyvinyl acetate with an approximate specific gravity of 1.18. For maximum solubility of the PVA Resin, 5 to 8% water should be present in either acetone or ethyl alcohol. A particularly good PVA solvent is 50/50 acetone/ethyl alcohol containing 6% water.
