Dichloromethane is used for grain fumigation and refrigeration of low-pressure freezers and air-conditioning units. Used as dental local anesthetic, refrigerant, fire extinguishing agent, metal surface paint cleaning and degreasing and film release agent.

Dichloromethane, an organic compound with the chemical formula CH2Cl2, is a colorless and transparent liquid with a pungent odor similar to ether. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether, it is a non-flammable low-boiling point solvent under normal use conditions. When its vapor becomes high concentration in high-temperature air, it will generate a weakly combustible mixed gas [4], which is often used to replace Flammable petroleum ether, ether, etc.

Application:

 1. Used as excellent solvent in the produce of organic solvent, parting agent, vesicant, Detergent , and suffocating, degrease, refrigeration etc.
2. Used as the reaction medium in the pharmaceutical industry like the preparation of ampicillin, ampicillin and cephalosporin, etc
3. Used as extractant to decaffeinate coffee and tea, prepare extracts of hops and other flavorings
4. Used in paint formula and degreaser
