Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)

PVA is a white to slightly yellow particle (or powder), stable, non-toxic water-soluble polymer, water is a good solution of PVA, from a practical point of view, water is also the only effective solvent. PVA has good film-making properties, and the resulting film has excellent bonding force, solvent resistance, friction resistance, stretch strength and oxygen cathodivity. PVA has two functional groups, hydrophilic and hydrophobic, so PVA has the property of interfacial activity, so PVA can be used as a protective colloid during polymer emulsification and suspension polymerization. These unique properties make PVA widely used in all walks of life.
